Dear Readers:
Many of my friends and former colleagues were hit hard and are still reeling from actions on Maurice Jones' watch.
The Virginian-Pilot is not alone. Bean counters have sacrificed the public trust that newspapers were meant to be --at least in the mind of folks like Thomas Jefferson --for the sake of profit.
